Formula
Tip per person is calculated separately as tip amount ÷ number of people.
The comparison scenarios show 15%, 18%, 20%, and 25% tips on the same bill before splitting.
The bill and tip percentage can be zero, but the party size cannot be zero and cannot be fractional.

Worked example
20% tip on $80 split two ways
- Start with an $80 bill and a 20% tip.
- Calculate the tip: $80 × 20 ÷ 100 = $16.
- Add the tip to the bill: $80 + $16 = $96.
- Split across 2 people: $96 ÷ 2 = $48 per person.
