## Formula

Quota per rep = target × (1 + over-assignment ÷ 100) ÷ reps.

- Methodology: top-down, equal split of the company target across quota-carrying reps.
- Over-assignment (quota above the plan) is an optional buffer you choose; nothing is assumed.
- Territory-weighted or ramp-adjusted quotas are not modelled.
- Quota per rep = target × (1 + over-assignment ÷ 100) ÷ reps.
- Inputs used: Currency (symbol only, never converted), Company revenue target for the period, Number of quota-carrying reps, Over-assignment buffer (your choice, 0 if none).

## Inputs

- Currency (symbol only, never converted)
- Company revenue target for the period
- Number of quota-carrying reps
- Over-assignment buffer (your choice, 0 if none)

## Worked example: A ten-person team

$5,000,000 target, 10 reps, 10% over-assignment.
1. Total = 5,000,000 × 1.10 = $5,500,000.
2. Per rep = $550,000.

## Common questions

### What is over-assignment?

Setting the sum of quotas above the company plan so the plan is still reached if some reps miss. Check the formula, example, and limitations on this page before using the result for a real sales decision.

### Should new reps get full quota?

Many teams ramp them. Use the sales capacity calculator for ramped capacity.

### Is there a good benchmark?

Benchmarks vary widely by market, deal size and sales motion. This page shows only your own figure and does not judge it.

### How do I use the Quota Calculator?

Enter the required values for Currency (symbol only, never converted), Company revenue target for the period, Number of quota-carrying reps, Over-assignment buffer (your choice, 0 if none). The calculator applies the formula on this page and shows the main result with any supporting breakdown so you can check the arithmetic.

### What formula does the Quota Calculator use?

Quota per rep = target × (1 + over-assignment ÷ 100) ÷ reps. The visible formula section above lists the calculation path and the edge cases the page handles, so the result can be checked without relying on the form alone.

### Can the Quota Calculator be used for exact decisions?

Use it as a calculation aid, not as a substitute for checking the underlying rule, contract, policy, or professional advice that applies to your situation. When a result depends on local rules, personal details, prices, or dates, enter those values yourself and confirm them before acting.

## Limitations and assumptions

- Equal split only.
- No ramp, seasonality or territory weighting.
- Results are educational estimates built only from the figures you enter. They are not personalised investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Rates, growth and discount assumptions are always yours to choose.
- The result depends on the values you enter for this quota calculator; it does not supply missing rates, rules, prices, dates, or assumptions for you.
