## Formula

Growth = (ending MRR ÷ starting MRR) − 1. Compound growth per month = (ending ÷ starting)^(1 ÷ months) − 1.

- Methodology: total period growth and compound growth rate per month (CMGR/CAGR style).
- Compound rate smooths over the path; it isn't the growth of any single period.
- Use normalised MRR figures at both points.
- Growth = (ending MRR ÷ starting MRR) − 1. Compound growth per month = (ending ÷ starting)^(1 ÷ months) − 1.
- Inputs used: Currency (symbol only, never converted), MRR at start of period, MRR at end of period, Number of months between them.

## Inputs

- Currency (symbol only, never converted)
- MRR at start of period
- MRR at end of period
- Number of months between them

## Worked example: Six months

$20,000 → $30,000 MRR over 6 months.
1. Total = 50%.
2. CMGR = 1.5^(1/6) − 1 = 6.99%.

## Common questions

### Why compound growth?

Averaging monthly percentages overstates growth; the compound rate reproduces the actual end value. Check the formula, example, and limitations on this page before using the result for a real saas decision.

### What counts as MRR/ARR?

Recurring subscription revenue only — see the MRR and ARR calculators. Check the formula, example, and limitations on this page before using the result for a real saas decision.

### What is a good value?

We don't assume a benchmark. Compare against your own plan and history.

### How do I use the MRR Growth Calculator?

Enter the required values for Currency (symbol only, never converted), MRR at start of period, MRR at end of period, Number of months between them. The calculator applies the formula on this page and shows the main result with any supporting breakdown so you can check the arithmetic.

### What formula does the MRR Growth Calculator use?

Growth = (ending MRR ÷ starting MRR) − 1. Compound growth per month = (ending ÷ starting)^(1 ÷ months) − 1. The visible formula section above lists the calculation path and the edge cases the page handles, so the result can be checked without relying on the form alone.

### Can the MRR Growth Calculator be used for exact decisions?

Use it as a calculation aid, not as a substitute for checking the underlying rule, contract, policy, or professional advice that applies to your situation. When a result depends on local rules, personal details, prices, or dates, enter those values yourself and confirm them before acting.

## Limitations and assumptions

- Two points only.
- Doesn't break down new, expansion and churn.
- Results are educational estimates built only from the figures you enter. They are not personalised investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Rates, growth and discount assumptions are always yours to choose.
- The result depends on the values you enter for this mrr growth calculator; it does not supply missing rates, rules, prices, dates, or assumptions for you.
